Join Guest Speaker Don Piper, Saturday, April 17th, and Sunday, April 18th.

New York Times Best-Selling author and world-renowned itinerant evangelist Reverend Don Piper turned his profound test into a testimony, his excruciating pain into a purpose. On his way home from a church conference in 1989, Don Piper’s car was hit head-on by a semi-truck. Emergency personnel responded and pronounced him dead on the scene. A passing minister received permission to enter Don’s car and began praying over the lifeless body. Ninety minutes later, Don returned to life on earth with vivid memories of God’s perfect place—Heaven. Told by doctors that he would never walk or have use of his arm again, thirty-four operations and years of recovery forced Don and his family to find a “new normal.” His inspirational story has touched millions around the globe, helping many to find new hope following tragedy and loss. Many have referred to Don as “The Minister of Hope.”

Don’s story is chronicled in his autobiography 90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death and Life (Revell, 2004). This book has sold nearly nine million copies in 48 languages. It remained on the New York Times best-seller’s list for nearly four years. 90 Minutes in Heaven has won numerous publishing awards and in 2018 ranked number eleven on the list of best-selling books of the last 25 years in USA Today. The book was listed for 193 weeks. In 2015 the book was produced as a theatrical movie from Giving Films, as 90 Minutes in Heaven: Hope Lives. Starring major Hollywood actors Hayden Christenson (Star Wars), Kate Bosworth (Superman Returns, Remember the Titans), Senator Fred Thompson (Law & Order, Hunt for Red October), singer/songwriter Dwight Yoakum, and legendary Christian music artist Michael W. Smith, the film has impacted millions in theaters, on television, at churches, and in living rooms. Don’s story will be featured in a new motion picture documentary from Sypher Films to be released in the Fall of 2021.

As Don Piper says, he has traveled the world “trying to get people into Heaven, and helping them have a better life on the way.” He has spoken in all fifty U. S. states and many countries, over 3500 venues of every kind, and to an estimated two million people in person. He has also appeared on hundreds of television and radio programs and in newspapers and magazines. Among his national TV appearances: NBC’s Today Show, ABC’s Nightline, Fox & Friends, The O’Reilly Factor, the 700 Club, Praise the Lord, Daystar TV, and James Robison. He has also appeared on many international broadcasts from England and Sweden to Germany and Australia.

Prior to being ordained as a minister in 1985, Don work in the radio and television industry for CBS and CBN Television networks in production, on-air, and in sales. He has a degree in broadcasting from LSU. He has also written four additional books (listed below) with his writing partner, esteemed prolific author Cecil Murphey. Their latest book is a sequel to 90 Minutes in Heaven and is entitled: People I Met At The Gates of Heaven: Who Is Going To Be There Because of You? (FaithWords, 2018). Piper and Murphey’s books have sold over ten million copies.

Founded in 2007, Don Piper Ministries channels revenues from book sales and speaking income to financially support more than 20 ministries and charitable organizations worldwide. Don’s wife, Eva Piper, nursed him back to health and told her own story in her book, A Walk Through the Dark (Thomas Nelson, 2013).  Eva and Don are parents of three grown children, Nicole, twins Chris and Joe, and grandparents of six grandchildren. All of the Pipers reside in the greater Houston, Texas, area.
