This was the moment in which Jesus took upon himself the full wrath of God upon sin… the sin of all the world for our sake!. Mark only records Jesus say, “My God my God why have you forsaken me?”. This was no doubt a victory cry. This was the Lion of the tribe of Judah roaring in victory over sin!
