Karen was born and raised in Puerto Rico. At 19, she married into the military and has shared her life with her best friend, Martin, ever since. Karen and Martin are parents to two young adult sons: Martin Terry and Harrison Willliam. On June 27, 2011, the family arrived in Oahu for a four-year military tour, but God had other plans in store. On Sunday, July 3, the family walked into a One Love Celebration at Kaimuki High School, and little did they know their lives would forever be changed. In 2014, Martin retired from the USCG after serving on active duty for 24 years, and Karen joined our One Love team and has served ever since as our Women’s Ministry Director.
Karen is an avid reader and lifelong learner. She is also an introvert that enjoys puzzles, hunting for sea glass, and watching documentaries. Karen is passionate about speaking about the unconditional love of God and His desire to heal the mind, body, and soul through Christ Jesus. She believes that our past does not define our future but has the ability to bring others into the loving arms of Jesus. Her life verse is Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”
